Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before utilizing PageMark. By installing, downloading, or using the application or website, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, installing, or executing PageMark ("the Application"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.
2. License Grant
PageMark grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run the Application on supported mobile hardware for personal, non-commercial reading log and book journaling purposes.
You may not modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or commercialize modified packages of the application without prior written consent.
3. User Journal Content & Literary Fair Use
PageMark is a private personal reading journal:
- Your Review Ownership: You retain complete ownership of your personal book reviews, reflection journals, and reading notes.
- Quotation & Fair Use: When saving excerpts, quotes, or highlights from published books, you are responsible for ensuring your personal note-taking complies with fair use principles and applicable copyright legislation.
4. Local Data Storage & Backup Responsibility
All reading history and quotation notes reside locally on your device. We maintain no cloud servers or remote backups. You are solely responsible for creating regular backups using the export feature or device OS backups. We bear no liability for data loss due to hardware failure or uninstallation.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
The application codebase, tracking metrics logic, user interface components, and logos are the proprietary intellectual property of PageMark developers and protected under international copyright treaties.
6. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use PageMark solely for lawful reading organization and personal journaling purposes and not to engage in unauthorized reverse engineering or redistribution.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties ("AS IS")
PageMark is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall PageMark or its developers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Application or loss of journal entries.
9. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Application signifies your acceptance of any revisions.
